,,Apimondia“ International Beekeepers Federation
Apimondia is the International Federation of Beekeepers' Associations, established in 1949 in Amsterdam. It took over the functions of the International Beekeepers' Congress Secretariat, founded in 1895.
Apimondia congresses are held every two years in different parts of the world. These congresses bring together beekeepers, scientists, and other interested parties to share knowledge and experience about beekeeping.
In 2025, the Apimondia congress will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in September. This will be the 49th Apimondia congress, where beekeepers, scientists, and other interested parties will gather to share knowledge and experience about beekeeping.
In 2023, the Apimondia congress was held in Santiago, Chile, and discussed several important topics:
1.
Sustainable beekeeping in a changing world: Discussions on ecological beekeeping principles and how beekeeping can be sustainable and profitable even in the face of climate change.
2.
Value-added products from the hive: Discussions on how beekeepers can increase profits by using products such as propolis, pollen, royal jelly, bee venom, etc. These products are also important for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
3.
Land use, biodiversity, and beekeeping: Discussions on how changes in land use and biodiversity affect bee health and productivity
